Learning Outcomes
The students obtain an understanding for the functioning of different energy and resource sectors from a political and environmental economy perspective. Different appraoches are presented and compared, e.g. institutional economics, microeconomics, and a political economy approach. These methods are then applied to selected energy and resource sectors, e.g. fossil fuels, metal markets, renewables, as well as local and global pollutants. The module includes the writing of a term paper with a specific focus, generally based on current issues.
