Learning Outcomes

The Workload of the module sums up to 180.0 Hours. Therefore the module contains 6 Credits.

Description of Teaching and Learning Methods

Lecture: Based on the theoretical foundations and models of the individual energy markets, up-to-date energy market data is analyzed and evaluated. Tutorial: Examples and exercises of market developments are discussed in order to deepen the methodological knowledge of the students. Based on the software developed at the department, students will have the opportunity to simulate the electricity markets.

Requirements for participation and examination

Desirable prerequisites for participation in the courses:

Students should be interested in the newest developments on energy markets and have already attended a lecture covering the basics of economics. Capital budgeting and market structures are particularly important.
