• To analyze key discourses within the field of urban political ecology. • To apply frameworks of urban political ecology to assess and propose solutions to ecological problems. • To enhance critical reading skills by evaluating and interpreting relevant academic literature. • To synthesize various arguments and perspectives to construct a coherent political ecology lens in a written paper.

Lehrinhalte

This course will be conducted as a seminar, utilizing student-led learning. Each week, students will be assigned readings on various topics within urban political ecology. One student will present the week's readings and lead the subsequent discussion. All students are expected to complete the weekly readings and actively participate in discussions. The course will culminate in a final paper, in which students will utilize political ecological frameworks to explore and analyze a specific ecological problem of their choice. This final paper will demonstrate their ability to synthesize course content and apply frameworks related to urban political ecology to real-world issues.

Beschreibung der Lehr- und Lernformen

• Weekly Readings: Students will be responsible for completing weekly assigned readings covering a range of topics within the field of urban political ecology. • Discussion Leadership: Each week, a different student will be responsible for creating a brief presentation based on the current week’s readings and leading a group discussion related to the topic. • Final Paper: All students will complete a final paper that utilizes frameworks of urban political ecology to explore and analyze an ecological issue of their choice, demonstrating their ability to synthesize course content and apply it to real-world problems.
