Each student must choose a text (you will have the choice of book chapters, articles, speeches, and opinion pieces— the full list and texts are in the UV) which will be used as the source for a three-stage written work.

1.     A summary of the text: length being 10% of the text, for instance, 2 pages if the written work is 20 pages.

2.     A report on the historical context of the text: length being 7-8 pages.

3.     A critical analysis of the text, length being 7-8 pages.

All papers are mandatory and these will constitute 90% of your final grade. The final 10% will be based on active participation in and attendance of the seminar. Complete attendance of all seminars merits an award of 1%.
