The lecture series “Political Economy China Lunch” focuses on current developments and structural dynamics in the political economy of the People’s Republic of China. It explores the interplay between state, market, and society, as well as the strategic orientations of China’s economic, industrial, and technology policies. Experts from academia and practice discuss topics such as innovation policy, digital platform economies, global supply chains, the financial system, sustainability, and geopolitical entanglements. The series aims to combine well-grounded analysis with informal lunchtime exchange and to foster interdisciplinary dialogue. It is aimed at researchers, students, and an interested public who wish to engage more deeply with China’s evolving economic and political landscape.
Die Vortragsreihe „Political Economy China Lunch" widmet sich aktuellen Entwicklungen und strukturellen Dynamiken der politischen Ökonomie der Volksrepublik China. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Fragen nach dem Zusammenspiel von Staat, Markt und Gesellschaft sowie nach den strategischen Leitlinien chinesischer Wirtschafts-, Industrie- und Technologiepolitik. Expertinnen und Experten aus Wissenschaft und Praxis diskutieren Themen wie Innovationspolitik, digitale Plattformökonomien, globale Lieferketten, Finanzsystem, Nachhaltigkeit und geopolitische Verflechtungen. Ziel der Reihe ist es, fundierte Analysen mit informellem Austausch in der Mittagszeit zu verbinden und einen interdisziplinären Dialog zu fördern.
