Kursbeschreibung:

Introduction and Overview of the Module.

After successfully completing the module, students will have acquired and expanded their skills and knowledge of survey and analysis methods used in empirical research on media communication. This methodological knowledge for researching communicators, media content, and media users will enable them to appropriately evaluate existing data collection and to plan and conduct their own studies on media communication.

Content: Introduction to study design and data collection in empirical research on digital media communication. Through case studies, exercises, and practical examples, students learn the process of research projects, including all phases of an empirical study: phrasing hypotheses, designing studies and operationalizations, analyzing data, and finally presenting and interpreting results.
