Das Seminar vermittelt Grundlagen, Inhalte und Theorien der aktuellen Heritage-Forschung. Basierend auf gemeinsamer Textarbeit zu spezifischen Themenkomplexen sollen Fragestellungen sowohl im Seminar als auch anhand von Beispielen vor Ort im Stadtraum gemeinsam diskutiert und kritisch eingeordnet werden. Ziel ist es, die oft vernachlässigten theoretischen Grundlagen und Strömungen der Heritage-Forschung nicht nur zu vermitteln, sondern sie als Anregung zum eigenen kritischen und theoretischen Arbeiten fruchtbar zu machen.
The seminar covers the fundamentals, content and theories of current heritage research. Based on collaborative analysis of texts relating to specific thematic areas, issues will be discussed and critically examined both in the seminar and through examples observed on-site in the urban environment. The aim is not only to convey the often-neglected theoretical foundations and trends in heritage research, but also to use them as a stimulus for students’ own critical and theoretical work.
