In today’s world, the effects of climate change are felt most directly through water. Indeed, changing climate patterns combined with population growth pressures, limited availability of new and inexpensive fresh water supplies, and growing political interest in future-proofing economies has driven renewed interest in solving water-related challenges through science and technology. This course aims to explore how governments, stakeholders, and development partners aimed to maximize the efficient use of water resources through new technological interventions after the Second World War, and how this unwavering optimism in technology has lasted in efforts to shape a more water-secure world to this day.
