Learning Outcomes

Students learn the methods of applied mathematics for the computer-aided solution of larger economic and technical optimization problems, building on or parallel to the fundamentals of operations research. Covered is the solving of linear and integer problems using applied mathematics methods and in particular the use of the standard software Julia. Students will be able to develop own mathematical models for solving economic and technical problems upon completion of the course.

Content

~ Linear Optimization ~ Integer Optimization ~ Introduction to the standard-software Julia ~ Setting up and computational solving linear and integer Problems ~ Handling and import of data/parameters ~ Independent model development for solving economic and technical problems
