Learning Outcomes

Students gain an insight into the basics of the legal protection of personal data on an European and national level. The focus will be on Data Protection Law and Data Security Law.

Content

In the integrated lecture relevant areas of the legal protection of personal data are displayed and are skilled through exercise parts in practical applications. The main subjects of the course are: the legal background of Data Protection and Data Security Law, the scope of European and national Data Protection and Data Security Law, the principles and responsibilities of Data Protection and Data Security Law, the Rights of the data subject and the risks of liability.

Description of Teaching and Learning Methods

Analysis and examination of the relevant regulation on a European and national level. Debating of important case-law, scenarios and opinions in literature. Conveyance of the basic knowledge of Data Protection and Data Security Law. Learning of methodological competence for legal examinations. The content will be illustrated by cases and scenarios. A repetition will take place regularyly.
