Lernergebnisse

The students are able to point out the impact of and interaction between different instruments of energy and climate policy on private actors and to present the factors that determine the development of the instruments in political processes. Based on this, they can -with the help of experiences from case studies and analytical methods- evaluate new policy instruments in terms of their effect and the factors that influence their implementation. Thus, students should develop the competence to assess regulatory conditions and developments from the company perspective and include it when taking decisions or to consider implementation or impact factors when analyzing and designing regulatory frameworks.

Lehrinhalte

The role of policy instruments in the transformation of the industrial and energy sector to a low-carbon world are analyzed. For this purpose, analytical models (micro, IO, regulation) and case studies are combined with experiences of recent years. The following questions will be discussed in particular: - How do different policy instruments affect innovation, investment, and production? - How can future policy developments be assessed and taken into account? - How important are national, European, and international policies? - What are the possibilities and limitations of entrepreneurial activities?

The portfolio examination consists of the following elements, adding up to a maximum of 100 credits. The grading follows the joint conversion key of the School of Economics and Management (decision of the school's council dated May 28, 2014 - FKR VII-4/8-28.05.2014).
