Learning Outcomes

After completing the module, students will be able to conduct and complete independent scientific or industrial research project in the area of . They will be able to plan and schedule a project, systemically collect and analyse data, develop findings and insights, and communicate results.

Content

The goal of the project assignment is to apply the knowledge gained in the basic and advanced civil systems engineering courses to an industrial modeling challenge or small scientific research project in the area of product modeling. To this end, different modeling assignments of our industrial partners or from our research projects will be offered as assignment. Students will also be allowed to suggest their own projects. Students will get in contact with a representative at the industrial partner or with researchers. Together they will discuss the model building assignment and goals with the contact. As a first step students then develop a research proposal and subsequently conduct the research. At the end, students will report the findings and research results in a concise report.
