Lernergebnisse

Learning outcomes may vary, but generally, upon successful completion of the module, students should be able to: • Demonstrate an understanding of the transdisciplinary nature of urban design with a specialised focus on landscape architecture • Analyse complex urban environments and spatial contexts through problem-oriented investigation and critical reflection • Develop conceptual and design solutions that address multifaceted challenges in landscape architecture • Evaluate and integrate diverse methodologies, tools and outputs in landscape architecture • Communicate design ideas and outcomes effectively through a range of mediums • Synthesize urban design and landscape architecture theories with practical applications • Engage in independent, self-directed research and design work • Organise and collaborate with others through group work • Employ strategic thinking and decision-making to navigate and resolve complex urban design issues with a focus on landscape architecture

Lehrinhalte

Each semester, students can select from a variety of landscape architecture projects offered by teaching chairs within the Institute of Landscape and Environmental Planning. Projects vary each semester, providing dynamic learning environments that engage with contemporary themes and projects. Students are allocated to a project based on preference balloting. Students engage in landscape architecture projects ranging from a variety of contemporary themes in landscape architecture, with complex tasks formulated on specific problem areas. Learning outcomes and content are project-specific, supporting advanced skills development in urban design with a focus on landscape architecture. Design tasks vary between each project, ranging from systematic urban analysis and mapping, to the development and discussion of design concepts from small-scale interventions, to broader urban design processes such as strategic master planning. Studio projects often place a strong emphasis on inclusive and sustainable design principles, exploring contemporary and critical themes. and case studies within architecture. Design tasks vary between each project, ranging from systematic urban analysis and mapping, to the development and discussion of design concepts from small-scale interventions, to broader urban design processes such as strategic master planning. Projects include students from different study programs such as the Master of Landscape Architecture and Master Urban Design, encouraging collaboration between disciplines. Urban Design students are encouraged to pursue landscape architecture projects through a transdisciplinary perspective fostering a holistic understanding of architecture and urban design and enabling students to design comprehensive solutions. Students are unable to enrol in this module if they have already completed another project within Urban Design - Master Project Landscape Architecture.
