The module Project Seminar: Urban-Regional Research and Critical Policy Analysis deals with theories and methods of critical policy analysis in their application to critical urban and regional research, and focusses in particular on developing research projects based on their in connection with relevant issues of urban and regional research. Taking into consideration the specific characteristics of planning, aspects from various theoretical perspectives will be discussed, such as: phases of the policy cycle and their impact on development and outcomes of policy processes, roles and action patterns of stakeholders and their constellations, forms and processes of political opinion formation, forms and processes of interaction, balance and negotiation in the policy process, etc. In connection with Specialisation Area V 'Urban and Regional Research', the theoretical part of this module is complemented with an analytical-interpretative application in the form of an empirically grounded research task ('Research Assignment').
