Learning Outcomes

Participants have knowledge on current research developments in the field Internet of Things. They deepen their understanding of research and common scientic practices in general, e.g., in the contexts of Mobile Cloud Computing, Distributed Security Infrastructures, Internet of Things for Smart Buildings, or Trust in Digital Services.

Content

A set of current "hot" research and development topics in IoT will be studied based on literature research and topic-dependent also by conducting hands-on implementations.

Description of Teaching and Learning Methods

Independent scientific analysis of a small research problem and presentation of its results.

Requirements for participation and examination

Desirable prerequisites for participation in the courses:

Students should have prior knowledge on IoT. Other than that, recommended skills depend on the respective research topic of the seminar thesis. We expect our students to be willing to work with new technologies, systems, and concepts - this also includes LaTeX.

Test description (Module completion)

The final marks will comprise a seminar thesis and the presentation of its results. The seminar includes a peer-review phase where students are asked to review theses of other students. The quality of said review is also considered. Insgesamt können 100 Portfoliopunkte erreicht werden, die Gesamtnote gemäß §47 (2) AllgStuPO wird nach dem Notenschlüssel 2 der Fakultät IV ermittelt.
