The Computer Security Seminar offered each semester deals with most recent topics with respect to the latest state of research regarding Computer Security focusing on Internet Security, Cryptography, Quantum Computing, Hardware Security, Software Security, and Telecommunication Security.

Der Aufwand des Moduls summiert sich zu 90.0 Stunden. Damit umfasst das Modul 3 Leistungspunkte.

Beschreibung der Lehr- und Lernformen

Each week, one or a small group of students gives a talk on a subtopic or aspect of the overall course topic of the seminar, followed by a group discussion on the presented material. We will especially focus on working with original literature as well as on practicing and preparing of technical talks. To ensure relevance and up-to-date topics, usually the most interesting out of last year's scientific articles are chosen. At the end of the course each student is required to hand in a written report that summarizes the key insights. Having completed this course, all students will have profound technical knowledge of their respective small and clearly defined subtopic as well as a broad overview of the research field covered by the course. Additionally they will have gained experience in writing scientific articles, especially systematization of knowledge papers. Course language is English incl. all written works (papers, presentations, etc). Note: Depending on scheduling circumstances, the talks may be held in block meetings near the end of the semester instead of the usual weekly rhythm. Details will be provided at the introductory meeting.

Knowledge of compulsory modules of Bachelor degree. This module cannot be chosen together with any other SecT module containing the seminar.
