Beschreibung der Lehr- und Lernformen

The course ART I will be held as a weekly seminar where students learn the fundamentals and the state-of-art in recycling technologies. Exercises show the practical application of various resource management tools, as well as the practical laboratory training, exposes the students to the complexity of gaining empirical data for raw material management. The contents of the exercises are practically applied in the preparation of a total of 4 graded assignments. An excursion is complementing theoretical knowledge with practical experience. In the course ART II, the student groups apply the methods and tools learned in the module "Advanced Recycling Technologies I" to projects which are closely linked to ongoing research projects at the Chair of Circular Economy and Recycling Technology. With several seminars during the semester, lecturers give input to experimental design, data processing, statistical analysis, visualization, and scientific writing. The students formulate research questions and plan, design and apply scientific methods and data collection strategies accordingly. Results will be presented and discussed at a mid-term and a final poster presentation session and documented in a written report following standards of scientific peer-reviewed publication writing. The students receive feedback from independent reviewers which they have to address in a second revision in order to practice common procedures of scientific publishing.
