Learning Outcomes

A case study enables students to analyse and assess the ecological dimensions of sustainable exploitation of environmental resources in cities. Securing and optimising exploitation of existing environmental resources is addressed, as well as reconnaissance, exploration and future exploitation of new resources. The course mainly addresses: Thematic skills 40 % methodologic skills 30 % system skills 10 % social skills 20 %

Content

Depending on the specific theme of the case study, the study project addresses the following aspects: - qualitative and quantitative availability of environmental resources; - exploitation intensity and efficiency, unexploited reserves; - positive and negative ecological impacts and risiks; - optimisation of exploitation, alternative forms of exploitation; - reconnaissance and exploration of new exploitation potentials; - strategies for sustainable exploitation of new potentials.
