Students have acquired a good understanding of scientific work as well as advanced knowledge on current research in fog computing, edge computing, cloud computing, IoT, microservices, and related areas.

Content

Current research topics of the MCC research group are covered through independent (but guided) literature research. Depending on the topic, this may also comprise small implementation tasks.

Independent but guided work on small scientific problems as well as presentation of results.

Requirements for participation and examination

Desirable prerequisites for participation in the courses:

We expect basic knowledge on distributed systems (as, e.g., acquired in the module Anwendungssysteme) as well as programming skills in Java. Since research publications are mainly in English, we expect the respective language skills. Finally, we expect students to be prepared to learn new technologies and tools - this explicitly includes LaTeX.
