Lehrinhalte
Vorlesung Angewandte Mikrobiologie:
Metabolism and product profiles (pyruvate oxidation under anaerobic conditions, ethanol production, lactic acid production, anaerobic respiration); production of antibiotics, proteins and enzymes, amino acids, vitamins and fatty acids, biopolymers and bioplastics; Biotransformation, leaching, microbial biodegradation, waste water management.
Vorlesung Grundlagen der mikrobiellen Genetik:
Structure and replication of genomes; gene expression and its regulation; protein targeting; genetic recombination; horizontal gene transfer (transformation, transduction and conjugation); viral genomes and infection; mutation of genes and genomes; genetic engineering: restriction and modification, mo-lecular cloning, shuttle vectors, expression vectors; DNA analysis tools etc.
