This course uses historical analysis methods to understand the process of China's industrialization and de-industrialization in different periods. In order to understand how China has evolved from a modern semi-colonial country to the world’s second largest economy, and analyze China’s existing industrial heritage to understand various problems and difficulties in the process of industrialization. Meanwhile, I analyze the changes of working-class identity in different historical periods through Chinese industrial history.
