Learning Outcomes

Fundamentals of environmental hydraulics are introduced. Based on this, insight into modern simulation methods and techniques of hydro- and environmental systems will be given. The students shall obtain a solid and future-oriented education which prepares them to work in the field of numerical modelling of hydro- and environmental systems under consideration of environmental sustainability and digital change.

Content

fundamentals of flow- and transport processes in the subsurface and in free-surface flow systems, modelling concepts, discretisation- and stabilisation methods (FDM, FEM, FVM, ...), components of modelling systems, computer exercise with engineering examples
