Learning Outcomes

The students examine international research approaches, thus developing the ability to understand challenging research papers, to analyse them thoroughly and to present them in a comprehensible manner. The knowledge they gain enables them to evaluate and discuss research work and to carry out their own independent scientific work.

Content

The seminar focuses on a range of topics from finance research. Within this framework, analytically demanding international research papers are examined, presented and discussed.

Description of Teaching and Learning Methods

Within the framework of the seminar a written homework is to be made, an oral presentation is to be accomplished and/or to take part in the discussion.

Desirable prerequisites for participation in the courses:

Successful completion of the "Investment and Financing" module and at least one module from the three modules "Risk Management and Capital Markets", "International Financial Management" and "Corporate Finance and Investment Controlling".

Test description (Module completion)

The portfolio review consists of the following elements, in which a maximum of 100 points can be achieved. The grading is carried out according to the common grading scale of the Faculty VII. (Resolution of the Faculty Council of 28.05.2014 - FKR VII-4/8-28.05.2014).
