Learning Outcomes

The students are able to deal with scientific issues on their own, to present and to write them down in the required manner. In addition being a preparation for later scientific papers (e. g. Master Theses) this course is designed to teach the fundamentals of scientific work, which enables the students to self-assess the requirements for a possible scientific carrier. Furthermore the necessary skills to autonomously penetrate and develop scientific issues in a limited time frame are trained and strengthend.

Content

Students learn the basics of quantitative and qualitative research and are involved in ongoing research projects of the Chair of Logistics. In the course Applied Logistics Research students, under scientific supervision, work on a research project, starting with the content design, survey methodology and analysis. Here, the concepts are first taught in theory and then deepened in its practical application.

Test description (Module completion)

The portfolio examination consists of the following elements, adding up to a maximum of 100 credits. The grading follows the joint conversion key of the School of Economics and Management (decision of the school's council dated May 28, 2014 - FKR VII-4/8-28.05.2014).

Duration of the Module

The following number of semesters is estimated for taking and completing the module:

Registration Procedures

At the beginning of each semester, an information lecture ("Infoveranstaltung") is offered for all students interested in studying logistics. Place and time of this event will be announced on the information boards of the Chair of Logistics and on the homepage (www.logistik.tu-berlin.de). Attendance at this event is highly recommended. Registrations for all courses at the chair of logistics take place in this event.
