Learning Outcomes

Students will have profound knowledge about different point-wise and areal measurement methods and their application in deformation monitoring or determination of shape, alignment, orientation of structural elements. They are able to carry out the entire process chain from geodetic network planning, choice of appropriate sensors and performing measurements in the field. Furthermore the students are able to select appropriate deformation models and to analyze and present the results, e.g. in interdisciplinary teams.

Content

Engineering Geodesy A IV 3633 L 225 - Engineering Geodesy - Definition and Core Competencies - Conventional Deformation Analysis (Congruence Models, Kinematic Models) - Dynamic Systems - System Identification via Parametric and Non-parametric Models - 1D and 2D Deformation Measurement and Analysis - Network Design and Optimization - Tunnel Survey - Laser Tracking Engineering Geodesy B IV 3633 L 250 - Areal Measurement Methods - Terrestrial Laser Scanning - Digital Image Correlation Systems - Areal Deformation Analysis - Determination of Shape, Alignment, Orientation of Structural Elements - Data Fusion, Sensor Integration - Special Sensors, e.g. Tilt Sensor, Acceleration Sensor, Strain Gauges - Contributions of Engineering Geodesy to Structural Health Monitoring (SHM)
