Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the course, students will be able to… - realize projects in international and intercultural teams to fulfill the needs of local communities in the partner countries of Greening Africa Together using renewable energy supply - use different methods to collect data for analyzing the needs of the target group - communicate interculturally and to reflect on this communication, online (during the preparation and evaluation) and in-person (while realizating the projects in the summer schools in the Partner countries) - conduct literature research and analyses of prior projects in the area and the sociocultural context to improve their own project work - network with different partners (local communities, cooperatives, business, administration) - realize their project work as a service learning project and know all necessary aspects of this concept

Content

The international student groups develop projects according to the needs of the target groups as well as the thematic and technical orientation of the chosen working group in an autonomous manner. During summer schools, students realize their projects together with all international members of the working groups as well as the village committees and business partners.

Requirements for participation and examination

Desirable prerequisites for participation in the courses:

A bachelor degree providing the necessary competences to realize renewable energy and green development projects. Undergraduate students with a proven relevant background and non-engineering students fitting to the projects are eligible too.
