Learning Outcomes

Students possess knowledge and practical experience in the area of modern, distributed and complex IT systems, focusing on software design, programming and the implementation of distributed systems. The project work within a team additionally conveys social and project management skills.

Content

Today the internet is a natural way to gain access to all kinds of services. For the provider of such services this translates to novel requirements concerning the operation of its IT infrastructure. For instance, high availability and low latency even in high workload situations need to be guaranteed. These topics are part of the research focus of the CIT group. The project sheds light on selected problems in the context of a current research project and is solved autonomously by a team of students. Solving such a complex problem in a team serves the purpose to practice methods learned in the basic studies. This happens under realistic conditions and includes planning, coordination, execution and presentations of results.
