Learning Outcomes

The module „Human Side of Innovation” explores the social context for innovation and creativity. Students will get a perspective on the relevance of individuals, groups and societies for the creative process and the management of innovations. To do this the course will aim to answer questions like: – What makes individuals creative? – What makes for a creative workplace? – What can be done to increase problem-solving capabilities? – How do innovations emerge and diffuse in populations? – What social factors shape innovations? – How can managers and organisations exploit these factors?

Description of Teaching and Learning Methods

The course adresses selected challenges and opportunities relating to managing creativity and innovation. We will use case studies, research articles, guest presentations and excersises to provide common experiences and discuss and interpret them together.

Test description (Module completion)

The portfolio examination consists of the following elements, adding up to a maximum of 100 credits. The grading follows the joint conversion key of the School of Economics and Management (decision of the school's council dated May 28, 2014 - FKR VII-4/8-28.05.2014).
