Learning Outcomes

Graduates of this module have practical experience in dealing with modern communication systems, their design, evaluation and implementation. The focus is put primarily on modern systems of wireless mobile communications, as well as Internet protocols and applications. Obtained skills have enabled students to design communication systems that are practically implemented and evaluated. Working in teams, graduates has developed social and project management skills. The module has principally designed to impart: 20% technical skills, 20% method skills, 20% system skills, and 40% social skills.

Content

This module solely consists of a project. The aim of the project is to work in small teams towards a solution of a major task. The work needs to be planned and realized autonomously and in a systematic manner, with limited guidance from a supervisor. The project topics change every semester and are related directly to the current scientific work of the research group. Description of Teaching and Learning Methods

PJ: Project work in groups of about 3 students, weekly meetings with the supervisor, intermediate and final presentations.

The contents of the BSc module „Kommunikationsnetze” or at least TechGI4 ("Computer Networks and Distributed Systems") is essential. Students should consider choosing only projects for which the required expertise of software and/or development tools had been previously acquired. The mark will take into account creativity, project management, presentations, as well as the actual implementation and evaluation of the proposed solution. The project needs to be documented with a final report and a survey page in the Internet.
